Clarkston, GA.
The Clarkston COVID-19 Task Force, in partnership with the City of Clarkston and Dekalb County, distributed thousands of masks, hand sanitizer and educational material to apartment complexes to help mitigate the spread of coronavirus in the community.
The task force members and volunteers handed out 3,500 masks, starting at 1500 Oak and Kristopher Woods Apartments on Saturday, July 25.
According to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention, to reduce the spread of COVID-19, CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings when around people outside of their household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
”As a task force, we are working together to educate the community on the importance of adhering to the 3Ws - wearing a mask, washing hands, and watching social distance. Our goal is to reduce the spread of COVID-19 by providing tools such as masks and hand sanitizers for Clarkston residents” stated Beverly Burks, Project Coordinator.

The task force’s goal is to provide masks, hand sanitizers and educational material to more than 6,000 residents.
