The latter half of the day from 12:30 - 2pm includes a collaborative annual job fair among all the Atlanta-based refugee agencies and ethnic organizations serving refugees.

OVERVIEW

Every year thousands of refugees are formally welcomed to the United States carrying dreams of a better life and the desire to escape political, religious, and/or ethnic persecution. In the early 1990s refugees began to resettle in the community of Clarkston, Georgia. Today, the Atlanta area neighborhood is a supportive urban environment fostering development and growth for refugee families from over 150 ethnic groups.

Friends of Refugees is a Clarkston-based non-profit whose mission is to empower refugees through opportunities that provide for their well-being, education, and employment. For over 10 years, the Refugee Career Hub facilitates hundreds of job placements each year, striving to provide hardworking refugees and immigrants with the technology, resources and relationships necessary to reach employment goals. This year, Friends of Refugees works with a number of other organizations listed above to continue with this cause.
